Every October I tell myself I'll book January sunshine "next week". Then it's November, the dark has arrived at 4pm, and every hotel costs more. So here's the short version of what's on offer right now, and how to use it without falling for the headline number.
• Up to 30% off select hotels and vacation rentals for members
• Book by 11:59pm (hotel local time), 7 October 2026
• Stay between 29 September 2026 and 31 March 2027
• Prices exclude taxes and fees. Limited availability and blackout dates apply.
The catch nobody puts in the headline
"Up to 30%" means the best-discounted hotels hit 30%. Plenty will be lower. Some won't be in the sale at all. The only honest way to know is to search your exact dates while signed in and look for the member price on each property.
How to actually find the discount (3 minutes)
1. Sign in (or join, it's free) so member prices show. 2. Search your dates, not "any time". 3. Sort by price, then compare the member price with the normal one.

Four ways to use the sale, and who each one suits
1. Hotel-only search for winter sun
Feature: search hotels alone, separate from flights.
Explain: you can pair it with whichever flight is cheapest that week, rather than being locked to one airline.
Why it matters to you: if you're a flexible couple or solo traveller hunting January sun (Canaries, Madeira, southern Spain), this is where the sale discount is most likely to show.
Limitation: you handle flights and transfers yourself, and a cheap room can be undone by an expensive flight.
2. City breaks for January to March
Feature: a dedicated city-breaks search with weekend and midweek dates.
Explain: winter is quieter in many cities, so midweek rooms can be noticeably cheaper than summer.
Why it matters to you: great for friends' weekends and budget travellers who'd rather spend on food than the room.
Limitation: short breaks mean taxes and fees (excluded from the sale price) make up a bigger share of the final bill.
3. Easter 2027 (Easter Sunday is 28 March)
Feature: the sale stay window runs to 31 March 2027, so Easter week sits inside it.
Explain: school-holiday dates are the first to sell out, and you can lock a room months ahead.
Why it matters to you: families get the most value here, because Easter rooms are the ones that vanish.
Limitation: peak dates are the most likely to have blackout periods, so the discount may not apply. Check before you fall for a hotel.
4. Free-cancellation filter
Feature: a filter that shows only rooms you can cancel.
Explain: you book before 7 October to catch the price, then change your mind later if plans shift.
Why it matters to you: perfect if you're booking months ahead without knowing your work leave yet.
Limitation: free-cancellation rooms can cost a bit more than non-refundable ones, and the cancellation deadline varies by hotel, so read it.
Flight + hotel packages: check before assuming
The sale is advertised on hotels and vacation rentals. I can't see that it applies to bundled packages, so compare a package price with a hotel-only price plus a separate flight before you commit.
